I Love Peace

I love Islam, I love peace, I also love chocolates and candy but that's another story ^_^

Islam preaches peace, but not in a 70's hippy type of way.

The Quran and Sunnah are really good guidelines for living a balanced and therefore peaceful life.

It was the first religion to give women human rights - when women were still kept as possessions to be married off to whomever their families pleased, taught only to cook and sew and denied an education in places like England for example, Muslim women already had the right to choose who they marry, do business, own property, and much more.

Don't believe me? Google it! (make sure you click on an actual Islamic site like sunnipath, IslamiCity, IslamQA, Harun Yahya, Quran.com, Islam Today, Islam Tomorrow)

Some other interesting stuff to note is that Islam is quite a practical religion - it's not SO peaceful that you have to become a vegan, yet if you are on hajj you should try not to even kill bugs. If you are too sick to pray, you can pray sitting or in bed or in your mind, whatever you are capable of.
If you are travelling you are exempted from things such as fasting which can cause great hardship.
There are even guidelines for business, for example taking interest is forbidden in Islam as it is considered an unfair and dishonest form of money making.

And something that might surprise you...

So you know how some people got stoned to death in the Prophet's time?

He never allowed anyone to be stoned who did not confess, and when someone came to him with a confession he would turn his face away from them hoping they'd take the opportunity to be exempted from such a harsh punishment. If they confessed again each time he turned away then, and only then, would he allow them to be punished.

If a husband accuses his wife of zina (sexual relations out of marriage) and bears witness against her, she will be punished if she confesses, but if she also bears witness against him that he is lying then there will be no punishment and the matter will remain between them and Allah, but their marriage will end.

A lot of the so called shariah law in practice today in Islamic countries is WRONG!

These idiots are bending the laws of Islam to suit THEIR OWN needs.

There's no law in Islam that says a Muslim woman cannot drive (Gosh there weren't even cars then!)

And no law that says a women MUST wear a niqab or burqa, the countries that impose it are not correct in doing so. The majority of scholars agree that it is OPTIONAL.

Either way, every Muslim in Muhammad's (salallahu alaihi wasalam) time was a CONVERT, just like me!

That's right, they chose to follow Islam, to cover, to worship One God, to Pray, to give up everything for God! ...not to be forced into something that God so clearly gave us as a choice....

An very logical exert from a Christrian website:
Surah 2:256 “Let there be no compulsion in Religion.” This would be a rational position if practiced as a standard, however Muslims disallow the Bible (as well as other books of religion) in their countries and do not give people a choice. They do not want to engage in dialogue or allow freedom of choice when they are in control. To present the Bibles Gospel is tantamount to aggression, so one is labeled an infidel, and the use of force can be used to restrain him. The rest of this verse says “Truth stands out Clear from Error: whoever Rejects Evil and believes in Allah hath grasped, the most trustworthy Hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth And knoweth all things.” This verse seems to imply that those who embrace Islam willingly are accepted.

MUSLIMS ARE NOT FOLLOWING THEIR OWN RELIGION, DON'T JUDGE ISLAM BY MUSLIMS, BUT JUDGE IT BY THE QURAN AND SUNNAH :peace:
